ARLIE AT UNION STAGE IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Going into a concert where you don’t know any of the music or the musicians is always a bit nerve-racking, but filled with excitement. You just know you’re about to have an experience that will be brand new and filled with love. Arlie, with opening bands Whitehall and The Sewing Club, performed at Union Stage last week to wall to wall crowds. Never having heard Arlie, I was so excited to see them come out on stage after two amazing openers, and when they did, they did not disappoint. It started off with this beautiful ethereal lighting, everyone in angel wings with halos, and ready to give the crowd a beautiful experience.
After the first song, Arlie thanked the fan up front who gave the band the angel halos, which was a really touching moment. The band played songs from their new album Break the Curse that can be found on Apple Music. I’ve been obsessed with the title song, “Break the Curse”, which is a beautiful, ethereal song that was stunning to watch the audience react to in person. If you listen to one song, this is the one that really touched me the most. The album is a masterpiece in pop, alternative and indie all rolled into one. If you get a chance to see them live, please make the trip, you’ll be blown away.
