CALPURNIA AT HOUSE OF BLUES IN HOUSTON, TX
This month, Houston was the chosen one as the last stop on Calpurnia’s most recent tour for their EP, “Scout.” And lets just say that if you weren’t there, then you’re sorry.
The four piece Canadian indie rock group, comprised of Finn Wolfhard (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Ayla Tesler-Mabe (lead guitar, vocals), Jack Anderson (Bass), and Malcolm Craig (Drums), played a packed House of Blues and pretty much melted everyone’s faces off while most likely aiding in my continued deafness thanks to the insane musical talents combined with the hundreds of screaming fans, but it was definitely worth it. Their entire set was high energy and I caught myself a majority of my time in the photo pit singing and bobbing along from behind the camera.
It’s quite incredible to see such a talented group of young people be recognized so early on, and I without a doubt know they’ll end up being massively and critically acclaimed soon.
If you haven’t seen them yet, then what are you doing with your life? You can catch them at a ton of festivals this year, including in Atlanta, GA at Shaky Knees in May, as well as Governor’s Ball in June.
