CAR SEAT HEADREST AT THE BEACHAM IN ORLANDO, FL
Car Seat Headrest is currently out on tour with Naked Giants, a group that just so happens to be comprised of the three touring members of Car Seat Headrest. To be honest, I had never listened to Naked Giants prior to this show. I was nothing short of astounded by their set. It’s always a treat to watch a band that genuinely enjoys performing and Naked Giants most definitely fits that bill. I was already impressed with their buzzing performance, but once they started their bubbly banger, “Ya Ya’, I was sold. Mad props to these guys for managing to exude the amount of energy that they do for not just one, but two sets every night on this tour.
I was almost worried that Car Seat Headrest wouldn’t be able to match the energy supplied by Naked Giants. However, they nullified any concerns I had and managed to be just as full of energy as the prior act. The room remained full of an infectious energy the entire night. People obviously went hard for “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales” and “Fill in the Blank” seeing as these are two of their most popular songs. I hung out on the balcony for a good portion of the night so that I could enjoy the sea of bobbing heads and flailing arms in its entirety. Car Seat Headrest is one of those bands that just dissolves into their performance. Will Toldeo almost seems as if he’s the only one in the room when he’s performing and it's entrancing.
I hit shuffle on Naked Giants’ album, SLUFF, as soon as I got back to my car to head home. I think it’s safe to say they gained at least one new fan from this show. If you're interested in giving them a listen, I’d recommend checking out “Everybody Thinks They Know (But No One Really Knows)”. I would also 100% recommend checking out one of the dates on this tour if they’re coming near you. Between enjoying songs that I love, witnessing the artists have the time of their life on stage, and seeing audience members go absolutely nuts, I had a smile on my face the entire night. I guarantee you will too.
