DANCE GAVIN DANCE AT HOUSE OF BLUES IN DALLAS
It’s pretty safe to say the Dallas stop on this Dance Gavin Dance tour was more than excited for the line up of Body Thief, Royal Coda, and Dance Gavin Dance. The line into the House of Blues venue wrapped completely two to three blocks from the entrance. You know, I’d be lying myself if I didn’t say I was just as excited to finally photograph this lineup and see Dance Gavin Dance with some of the original members I never got a chance to see.
I had not actually heard of Body Thief before this show and I love discovering new music. They definitely did not disappoint. Daniel had an amazing stage presence and was in the photo pit by the start of the second song, interacting with the excited crowd. Next came Royal Coda and I haven’t seen them since about 2019, but I had loved getting to see them back in Deep Ellum a few years ago. Kurt blew my mind with his alluring vocals, to his big stage energy, and I even caught him doing a handstand mid song. I was so incredibly stoked and enticed throughout their entire set. I can’t forget to mention how crazy Sergio gets on stage and I always love it!
Now for Dance Gavin Dance - I was so excited to get to hear Andrew Wells with them live for the first time. Him and Jon Mess sounded incredible together, and we all got blessed to see Kurt Travis come on stage to do a few songs with them from his time with the band. AND we got to see Kurt, Andrew, and Jon perform together. Not only that, I got to hear Will, with his crazy guitar licks, do some vocals as well. They all sounded incredibly haunting and beautiful and this show was definitely a once in a lifetime chance. So, if you’re on the fence about going DON’T MISS IT!
