EVES KARYDAS RELEASES NEW SINGLE "GETS ME SO HIGH"
Eves Karydas is a new and exciting pop act from Brisbane, Australia who recently released her new single, “Gets Me So High”. The song is bright and shimmery despite being about a dysfunctional relationship and being addicted to your partner. “Gets Me So High” proves to be yet another display of Karydas’s knack for transparent, confessional lyricism.
Speaking of the track, Karydas shares:
“Someone once said to me “being in love is like being given drugs for free”. At the time I was experiencing a real lack of security in the relationship I was in. I was constantly on edge and allowing the other person to dictate whether my mood was up or down. It left me feeling so unhinged. The annoying part of it all was that no matter how many lows and red flags there were, I was addicted to the highs.”
The video does a good job portraying the ideas of the song as Eves stated, because it flashes between her by herself and her in the company of a man touching her shoulders, hips, and moving her head around. Moving her around represents the edginess she feels while around him despite them being in a relationship. Those that have been in toxic relationships understand the addiction, but the reality is that they should not be together. This song was written in Stockholm alongside pals Madelene Eliasson and Amanda Cygnaeus.
