GRACIE ABRAMS AT THE FOUNDRY IN PHILADELPHIA

GRACIE ABRAMS AT THE FOUNDRY IN PHILADELPHIA

Gracie Abrams stopped at The Foundry in Philadelphia, PA this past week on her “This Is What It Feels Like Tour” in celebration of her EP of the same name released back in November. From the minute I walked into the venue I could feel the buzz of excitement amongst her fanbase. You could tell there was a lot of love to be shared back and forth between the audience and Gracie from the minute she stepped foot on stage. The 22 year old singer-songwriter was all smiles as she opened her set up with “Feels Like”. Right from the start she began interacting with the crowd, reaching out whenever she could to grab hands and sing directly to her fans. She made it a point to express to the audience that it was not her decision to have a barricade up at the show and that it would not stop her from reaching out. During her performance she would switch between performing at the piano, as well as playing guitar which really helped show a lot of versatility in her performance as a musician. The pure, raw emotion that she put into every single song that she performed was remarkable, and her angelic voice soared above the instrumentals. Her vocal tone live is quite jaw dropping and brought tears to my eyes a couple times throughout her performance because she has such a beautiful sound to her voice.

Her set had a really great mix of songs both full of energy and ballad-esque. She performed tracks such as “minor”, “Mess It Up”, “Painkillers”, and “I miss you, I’m sorry”. Towards the end of her set she let the audience know that she woke up with a sore throat, but only felt joy and love when she was on stage in front of the crowd. A fan towards the front was Facetiming a friend and she even grabbed the phone to sing directly to them. As the night came towards the end, she performed one of my personal favorites “Unlearn” and then closed the show out with “For Real This Time”. Her fans were not ready to leave as she was given a huge round of applause, with fans screaming and chanting her name. Gracie Abrams is an artist to look out for if you haven’t checked her out already. I’d highly recommend getting to see her headline a set, but if you missed her this time around not to worry - she will be back on the road later this spring to open for Olivia Rodrigo. Definitely make sure to take a listen to her new EP This Is What It Feels Like and make it out to a show if you can!
