LA MODA AT SALA SANTANA 27 IN BILBAO, SPAIN
November 9th La Maravillosa Orquesta Del Alcohol (MODA) and Santana 27 sold out the venue. It wasn’t really a surprise, as this band has experienced a huge increase in popularity in Spain in the last few years. The seven members of the band entered the stage with Johnny Cash at high volume. After a quick presentation they started with “Mil Demonios” and the crowd went crazy. Throughout the concert they played a variety of themes from their catalog including “El Camino”, “Altamira”, and “Los hijos de Johnny Cash”.
With “PRMVR” the night became a little bit emotional with the entire crowd singing together during one of the most iconic songs from the band. We also had the chance to listen to an instrumental break - in which la MODA showed their skills with with saxophone, mandolin, fiddle, and others. David, the front man, remembered the 9 years of la MODA and all the past concerts they have had, the good and the bad. He thanked everyone involved in the band during those years and immediately started to play “La Vieja Banda”.
“Heroes del Sabado” was the song chosen to close a great concert. This was the third one that I have attended and it was incredible how the band has evolved. They give people a much richer live experience than the one we could see three years ago. It is always satisfying to see good work on stage and la MODA definitely provides that satisfaction.
