MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA AT MERCURY BALLROOM IN LOUISVILLE
On November 16, 2021 Manchester Orchestra brought their “Million Masks Of God Tour” to Louisville, Kentucky. They're on this tour in support of their new album Million Masks Of God which they released back in April of this year. On this tour they brought out two bands, the opening act being a band called Slothrust from Boston, Massachusetts.
Slothrust is a 3 piece Rock band with a talented front woman that wails on the guitar like no one’s business, with a voice you can’t compare to anyone else. While it was my first time experiencing them, they noted how they’ve came to Louisville a lot and have always loved it. You can bet that I’ll be seeing them again! The crowd loved them, and they really knew how to work it! After Slothrust, Foxing hit the stage and they hit hard. Coming out they instantly got the crowd off their feet and moving.
Foxing is from St. Louis, Missouri. They have not been to Louisville for a very long time and addressed it. It was nice to be there to welcome them back to the city of Bourbon, and what’s more fitting than a sold out show? Their energy up on that stage was just so captivating and you could just see them feeding off each other and just having the best time up on that stage.
After foxing played their set the crowd gave them the loudest of cheers. The lights came on and they started breaking everything down for in just 30 Minutes the band that everyone came to see were about to take the stage, Manchester Orchestra. As the lights dimmed all the members slowly made their way to the stage to play a sold out show at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Kentucky. When they took the stage they owned it. That was the band that everyone was there to see and you could hear it! Manchester started out with a few songs from their new album, then played a variety of their discography. They played one of my personal favorites, “The Gold”. I strongly recommend that if you have the chance, go to this tour! You won’t regret it one bit!
