MOVE LIKE CREATURES RELEASE "SPACE CASE" MUSIC VIDEO
Southern California band Move Like Creatures just released their music video for the current single, “Space Case”. The song tackles the stigma of mental health and crises through not only the lyrics, but the aesthetic too. Vocalist Nancy Bombard is shown both with the band and in the middle of a foggy field totally isolated. “Space Case” is the second single off the now announced EP of the same name out March 23rd. The first single was a song just as driven and filled with an important message titled, “Mind Reader”. This is their debut EP and should make more people aware of the pop-rock band and their unique sound.
In the time of isolation, working from home, and internet friendships, the four piece band transcended isolation through the beginning of the pandemic by creating the band through Craigslist ads. The song “Space Case” captures the human experience and how you feel like you’re lost in space when you’re dealing with mental health crises seemingly by yourself. Frontwoman Nancy Bombard’s lyrics are raw and vulnerable, grappling openly with loss, insecurity, and mental health, and her bandmates—drummer Melissa Koziel, bassist Brian Bello, and guitarist Ryan Reynolds—deliver similarly confident, captivating performances; mixing pop sheen and rock and roll grit with immersive electronic flourishes and streaks of punk defiance. The music video for “Space Case” can be seen below. Make sure to check out the Space Case EP out March 23rd as well!
