As Women’s History Month comes to an end, here is a list of bands or artists you might not know to help curate your playlist full of incredible women. Check them out below!

SARAH BERNSTEIN

Sarah Bernstein and her new track, “Loser of the Year” which is a pop-punk track that she originally wrote at 17 and recently reworked. She takes influence from Avril Lavigne and the chorus and sarcastic words totally hit that note. The song will be a fun song to scream with windows open through the summer.

HOT MILK

Hot Milk, a duo composed of singer Han and guitarist Jim, put out their debut record last year titled A Call To The Void. One of the most powerful songs, “Breathing Underwater” is about mental health and struggling. It’s one of those songs to scream the words to to get the feelings out.

HONEY REVENGE

Honey Revenge, a duo composed of singer Devin Papadol and guitarist Donny Lloyd, also put out their debut record last year entitled Retrovision. My favorite song from the album is “Worst Apology”, a catchy pop punk song with a big chorus. The song deals with standing up for yourself against half-baked apologies.

CHARLOTTE SANDS

Charlotte Sands released her debut album in January and it takes on emotional growth and embracing individuality. The must check out song from it is track three, “get over it” where Sands deals with missing an ex you just broke up with and the conflicting feelings.

SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY

SeeYouSpaceCowboy is a sasscore band fronted by Connie Sgarbossa, who year after year are becoming more massive. The must check out track is the track that introduced me to them, “Armed with Their Teeth” from their 2019 album, The Correlation Between Entrance and Exit Wounds. The song is about fighting back against oppressors and to “bite back and claim your life.” The group also announced an album out later this year titled Coup De Grâce.

SPIRITBOX

If you’re into metal at all, you probably know Spiritbox and their incredible vocalist Courtney LaPlante are, but if you don’t, you should. The starter track from the band is “Holy Roller”, which has become a massive moment for them and is just such an experience live.

ABIGAIL BARLOW

Songwriter Abigail Barlow, part of the Barlow & Bear duo responsible for the Bridgerton Musical, released solo music and her most recent song “Mirror, Mirror” is about liking yourself and the body you’re in. The song is not only relatable but a complete jam. She will be putting out a record later this year that is sure to be full of fun pop music.

BRIANNA MUSCO

The last artist is Brianna Musco and her song “Rose Colored Glasses” which is about a meet up with an ex flame or ex lover and ignoring the signs that it’s a bad idea. The song is poppy and upbeat with a chorus of, “... you can’t see the red flags through rose colored glasses.”
