YUNGBLUD AT THE STONE PONY SUMMER STAGE IN ASBURY PARK

YUNGBLUD AT THE STONE PONY SUMMER STAGE IN ASBURY PARK

Yungblud brought his world tour to the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. Fans lined up around the building, anxiously awaiting entrance into the venue. Yungblud, also known as Dom, was born in England and has played music his entire life. He even brought a white hearse to the venue, and it had “Low Life” written on the windshield, which is the name of his newest single.

Yungblud writes songs about events that are going on in the world. This makes it easy for his fans to relate to them. This tour follows the release of his #1-selling self-titled album YUNGBLUD. This album is great for fans to sing along to and is his best work yet.

Games We Play hit the stage first. It was my first time hearing their music, and I was very impressed. The band could be seen smiling at each other during their set, which always makes it fun. They played their new song called “All My Untalented Friends”, and the fans loved it. The lead singer’s brother, Ethan, even came out to model some of their merch. The crowd went wild, and he even ripped his shirt off; it was a great marketing tactic.

The Regrettes came on next, and fans could be heard screaming from all over. They recently released a new single called “Dancing on My Own”. The lead singer Lydia explained that they are from California and do mosh pits there. She then asked if we do mosh pits here, and the crowd screamed yes and opened one up. The band had a unique sound. At the end of their set, they even had a surprise for the crowd. The drummer came out from behind the kit and took Lydia’s guitar, and she went in the back to play the drums. This was something I never saw at a show before, and it was very cool.

Finally, it was time for Yungblud to take the stage. Before he came on, there was a lot of fog and a digital screen behind him. There were trash cans with spray paint all over. It was a very cool setup. The crowd was going crazy, and Yungblud jumped all over the stage. He was moving so fast that it was hard to follow him with my camera! The crowd waved excitedly, and you could tell he was about to put on a great show. He had the entire crowd singing and clapping along with him. At one point, he took out an acoustic guitar to sing. Fans had flags and signs and screamed along all the way from the back of the Stone Pony. He had fans hold up their pinky fingers, put a thumbs down, and cheer. You never knew what you were going to get. Standing on the speakers closest to the barricade, he got as close to the crowd as possible. I loved that he put on his sunglasses even at night.

The Stone Pony had a show inside before the Yungblud concert and a special late show afterward, which was excellent. This NJ date is close to the end of Yungblud’s tour, so check the rest of the dates and try to attend one before it’s over!
