TEQUILA AT SALA SANTANA IN BILBAO

TEQUILA AT SALA SANTANA IN BILBAO

On the first day of February, Tequila gave its last concert in Bilbao. The last concert of one of the greatest rock bands of the 80s in Spain, and they did not disappoint at all. The band, headlined by Ariel Rot and Alejo Stivel, both Argentinians, had its biggest impact on the music scene in Spain around 40 years ago, which is amazing because I am not that old, but I know almost all of their themes. The legacy of Tequila in the Spanish rock scene is so big, that all of the bands in the last 30 years are heavily influenced by them. With this last tour, they are giving the all-time fans a good memory to have.

The show itself was just amazing. From the beginning to the end it was nonstop action, with the crowd knowing that it was the last chance to see them in the concert. Obviously, a big part of the people attending were around their 60s, but I am sure that during those two hours, they felt like they did 30 years ago; just enjoying the moment and forgetting about everything else.

For me it was a pleasure to see and capture the iconic moves of Alejo Stivel, who did not stop moving the whole night. He knows how to move on stage and poses for the photographers, which is something to be thankful for these days, as we are mostly ignored by the artists. Ariel Rot, as usual, mastered the guitar and gave great solos. The rest of the band was also doing great, but not at their level.

It was around two hours of a remarkable show, which I will not forget; maybe more so because of its nostalgic charge than for the music itself, but music is also about this: memories and feelings.
