Highly acclaimed English folk songstress, Billie Marten, has a sound that pairs beautifully with their delicate, lyrical, folksy presence onstage. Truly awe-inspiring, Billie stopped in in NYC during the “Flora Fauna Tour”, at Brooklyn venue Baby’s All Right for a night that celebrated both the hit album’s release and the journey the singer has made. 

Fresh off the release of Flora Fauna, Billie had packed out NYC venue Baby’s All Right for a night that held the audience entranced. A true force to be reckoned with, one of the many standout moments of the night were opening chords to the ethereal “Garden of Eden” that, with its sway-worthy melody and deeply resonant vocals in a room where a pin could drop, was a truly unforgettable moment. Additional moments of the standout night include the tracks, “Human Replacement” and “Liquid Love” which in the grander context of the album, discuss thematic elements of love, life, and loss. 

Flora Fauna, released in late 2021, has us see Billie embrace her own sound with a vulnerable fragility seen in the runs striking the chorus of “Garden of Eden”, “I want to feel alive, garden of eternal sunshine”. Which, trust us here, reflects the intimate feeling of the evening all around.
