SHINEDOWN RELEASE NEW SINGLE "DAYLIGHT"
Shinedown recently released the third single off their upcoming album Planet Zero out July 1. The single titled “Daylight” is my favorite of the three so far because vocalist Brent Smith has such a way of portraying the anguish and importance of the person he’s talking to.
In the chorus Brent sings, “You make sure I always see the daylight.” That person kept him afloat and helped get through the night, which in the last two years is super important to sometimes just make it through the day and night. The repeating lines of, “It’s amazing what the hard times can reveal. Like who shows up, who walks away, and who's for real” are a good lesson everyone learns at some point. The lesson is who your real friends are when you’re down and in darkness.
