ELECTRIC CALLBOY AT THE PALLADIUM IN NEW YORK CITY
In the heart of New York City, six lads from Germany were preparing to give us such an unforgettable performance that we’d be buzzing about it into the next day. They go by Electric Callboy and their goal is to let loose and have fun. Their genre combines elements of electro/metal with melodic pop and can best be described as dance-metal - the perfect recipe for a great night (or a great workout)!
Fans were decked out in wigs and head-turning outfits - many in theme consistent with Electric Callboy’s comedic music videos. The floor of The Palladium in Times Square was absolutely packed to the brim for this sold out show (seriously, the floor could NOT fit any more people!). Openers Conquer Divide and Solence each built the excitement up very well, even if you never heard of them, both acts added to the lineup incredibly and the audience agreed. The tone for the night was set beautifully thanks to their performances and the crowd ecstatically awaited for the headliner.
What better way for Electric Callboy to start the party than with one of their most electrifying songs, “Tekkno Train”? With an introduction straight from their music video, the crowd went wild immediately (see photos!). The night was simply one banger after another, I don’t think the crowd stopped moving for their entire performance. It felt like being at a huge party and everyone, friends and strangers alike, were there to have fun together.
This band are no strangers to covers, which included their performance of “Everytime We Touch” by Cascada that undoubtedly had the room dancing. As if that wasn’t fun enough, a surprise performance of Backstreet Boys’, “I Want It That Way”, graced our ears to which I suddenly found myself singing along with a nearby security guard. I mean, who could resist?
To close out not only an amazing night, but also a phenomenal USA tour, they ended with, “We Got The Moves”, where the entire tour bill came out on stage to sing along. The hours of hard work and dedication of every musical act and crew really showed, and it was at this snapshot moment that everyone simply enjoyed themselves in a true display of what music is all about.
It was one hell of a night to remember. See you next time they’re in town.
