ENTER SHIKARI AT SOUTH SIDE MUSIC HALL IN DALLAS
I had the incredible opportunity to witness Enter Shikari's electrifying performance in Dallas, Texas, and it was an experience I will never forget. I hadn’t gotten the chance to see them live before but had been following them since I was in high school and finally got to tackle two birds with one stone and photograph them as well. Honestly, the energy was at 1000% from the moment they took the stage and, despite most of the crowd (me included) being in our “elder years” as most would say, they brought the corresponding energy to match the band; and on a Wednesday night for that matter. The music was captivating and the lights and visuals were even more mesmerizing. Topped off with their high energy, raw, but also never short of being perfect performance, I found myself entranced the entire time while also trying to catch that energy. All in all it's something I’d do over and over again as I LOVED it.
They were preceded by the openers of Yours Truly, who got the show off to a wonderful start that honestly made it feel like it wasn’t even a mid-weekday show. The crowd was there early matching the vibes for Yours Truly’s high energy set. This was also my first time seeing them live and they played nothing short of an amazing set that sounded as if it was studio quality. Following them was You Me At Six, and little did I know until I had arrived that this was their farewell tour and they’d be retiring. Man, what a shame that is because this set truly felt so raw and emotional, and you could both see it and feel it, not just with them but the entire venue. From tears of joy and excitement, to elation to tears of sadness, somber, and longing from everyone there to take in this final performance from them. This show could not have been any better if you ask me. These two openers got the night started perfectly and Enter Shikari blew the roof off the venue and ended as best as it could be. This for me and so many other people will be a night to never forget. My word of advice to you is don't miss out on this tour!
