MACHINE GUN KELLY AT L'ELYSEE MONTMARTRE IN PARIS

MACHINE GUN KELLY AT L'ELYSEE MONTMARTRE IN PARIS

Equipped with a brand new and brilliant album, “Hotel Diablo”, Machine Gun Kelly came back to L’Elysee Montmartre in Paris, two years after his last concert there.

It would be lying to say we weren’t excited to see him that night. After two burning sets at Reading and Leeds festival the week before that rang over the Channel up into our ears, MGK was more than expected by his French fans. He didn’t disappoint. From the very first lines of “Habits” to the final notes, the first rows of the venue were completely enthralled by the rapper’s performance.

Colson Baker, from his real name, was almost in disbelief that so many people in France would have listened to his new album and took time to learn his songs word by word. He asked several times if, for real, the spectators had already listened to “Hotel Diablo”. Of course, we did. One track, in particular had a deep emotional impact, “Hollywood Whore”. Written over a Linkin Park sample, this track is also a small tribute to the late Chester Bennington. The track hits hard live, bringing even more emotions to the show.

MGK and his musicians gave everything while on stage, galvanizing an already very motivated crowd. After a cover of Wonderwall and the current hit “I Think I’m OKAY”, usually shared with the pop punk English phenomenon Yungblud, the rapper put an end to the show, under the loud cheers of the crowd. We already can not wait for his return.
