MADEON AT WAREHOUSE LIVE IN HOUSTON
Madeon ended his tour in Texas this week and I'm still reeling from the euphoric experience of seeing him live in Houston on Friday.
The french phenom put on a stellar (literally interstellar at times) performance at Warehouse Live in support of his freshly released album, Good Faith.
I'm always in awe of Hugo's talent and ability both in the studio and live, but he has most definitely produced, created, and performed his greatest yet. The show is indeed not just a live show, but more of an experience. The visuals alone are captivating; then you pair them with the music and the crowd's movement and it's very dream like. I think so much of that is intentional on Madeon's part - to create a fantasy in his shows.
Even though the album has barely been out for any time at all, I've been a die hard listener of Good Faith, and the Good Faith live show editions are like those records but on steroids.
Madeon's set consisted of live mixes of the Good Faith album along with new live versions of "Technicolor", "You're On", "Innocence", and his song with Porter Robinson, "Shelter". He ended the show with a special mix of "All my Friends" and "Shelter" that had everyone in the crowd (myself included) wanting to hear it again and again.
As a fan of Madeon and EDM, I was not surprised that I would enjoy the Good Faith live shows so much, but having left, I have so much more appreciation for the obvious effort and time put into these shows that sets them apart from anyone else's attempts at live EDM or DJ sets.
Here's to hoping for another round of Good Faith live tour dates in 2020. If you haven't experienced Madeon live yet, don't hesitate.
