SLEEPING WITH SIRENS AT STARLAND BALLROOM IN SAYREVILLE
There is something about that moment when the lights go black and the crowd goes crazy, screaming with sounds of excitement and a happy type of rage. I turned around from the stage. I watched as the fans in attendance forgot about any problems they may have. I watched as they waited for Sleeping With Sirens to walk out on to the stage, and as the band made their appearance, the crowd went absolutely insane.
The energy from the band started immediately as they took to their designated positions, and some stood over us on the platforms, engaging with the crowd. The power you felt from the sound system and the mixture of dark to bright visions of light kept the energy thriving as the band performed. Kellin Quinn (vocals) was all over the stage, standing on the platforms and jumping off, delivering to the fans the gift of his voice that gives this band their unique sound. Nick Martin (guitar), Justin Hills (bass), and Jack Fowler (guitar) all made their presence felt as they shared the stage with one another. They all switched from side to side to see all those in attendance at Starland Ballroom. Sitting at his throne, Matty Best (drums), rocked it behind his kit with some serious fills and non-stop drumming action.
As the show continued, the hard rocking set took a breather for some acoustic choices with just Kellin and Nick on stage. As I made my way through the crowd, from front to back and side to side, every person in attendance was glued to that stage. Acoustic shows are always something special to attend. Attending a heavy electric rock show and then being treated with some acoustic tunes is always a plus in my book!
You can see both on and off stage just how close this band is. Having that connection is important as it definitely plays a part in what is delivered to their fans as they perform on stage. Sleeping With Sirens was simply perfect live. Everything about this show from start to finish is what I know I live for when attending a show. I certainly am looking forward to the next time they are in town, and when you have you chance to see them live, I am sure you will feel the same! As always and until next time… keep ROCKING!
