THE ACACIA STRAIN AT THE FORGE IN JOLIET, IL
The evening of November 6th was a fun night for Joliet, IL because The Acacia Strain hit the Forge on their tour with Traitors, Spite, Left Behind, and Chelsea Grin!
The Acacia Strain fit perfectly on this lineup because the bill offered a variety of hardcore bands, both veterans and fairly new bands. Many concert goers favorite this band for their constant love and support of their fans. Not only do they kill every performance, but they are repeatedly speaking words of love and encouragement to the crowd in between songs. They are a band who knows the ups and downs in life, and they know that they’re not alone in that. In an effort to make others feel less alone, they create a community at their shows. This radiated through the night.
The Massachusetts band opened their set strongly with “Skynet”, and ended with “Tactical Nuke”. They also played songs such as “4x4”, “Beast”, and “Bitter Pill”. Vincent abused many water bottles (RIP), and the mosh pit was strong throughout the set. TAS kept the energy flowing through the room until the minute they stepped off stage, setting up the perfect entrance for Chelsea Grin.
All in all, The Acacia Strain played a dynamic set and left their fans wanting more. It was an honor to have them in Joliet, even if they think it’s apart of Chicago (it’s not, Vincent). Be sure to attend one of the shows they have left and experience all of the love that TAS has to offer!
