TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB AT WHITE OAK MUSIC HALL IN HOUSTON

Irish indie rock trio, Two Door Cinema Club, played a stop in Houston last month on their tour in support of their newest record, False Alarm

Originally the band was slated to play the lawn at White Oak Music Hall, but due to freezing temps was moved into the downstairs stage - meaning, super, super packed and intimate.

I actually think that part of things made the show even better than the massive production they'd originally had planned. It made it even more apparent the reach the band still has with its fans 10 years later. Every song was accompanied by the crowd's knowing of every word. We were all packed in there like sardines, but as soon as the music began it was impossible to not want to throw your hands up and yell the words out as loud as you could. Two Door continues to put out great and timeless records. They perform like seasoned pros, and their fans have grown along with them.

Their performance included much of their newest record as well as a ton of hits from their album Tourist History. They ended their set with THE quintessential TDCC song, "Something Good Can Work," followed by the finale, "Sun".

Seeing TDCC live this time around was quite the time. It almost, in a way, felt like how their earlier shows felt, but on a much grander scale. I like to think of their shows like an introduction into what it's really like to see a real indie rock show. You'll never be disappointed and you'll never not end up covered in sweat. Go see Alex, Sam, and Kevin if you get the chance.
