WELCOME TO ROCKVILLE: DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY SET TO HOST POWERHOUSE FESTIVAL

With festival postponements in abundance and cancellations sweeping through the scene, there is no doubt that rock fans are ready for a weekend of rowdiness in Daytona Beach, Florida. Welcome to Rockville returns to the Daytona International Speedway November 11th-14th, with a lineup that is sure to satisfy those craving an unforgettable live music experience. As the halfway point between Jacksonville and Orlando, Daytona Beach and the speedway have been proven to be great hosts to large scale events which bodes well for attendees of the festival to rest easy that the organizers will be ready for the onslaught of fans.

The festival lineup boasts heavy-hitters with a vast array of genres within the umbrella of “rock” music. If you’re looking for more of a classic sound you won’t want to miss, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Chevelle, amongst many others. Want something a bit more gritty? Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Gojira, and Anthrax definitely deliver and put on a hell of a live performance. I also appreciate the inclusion of more pop rock leaning artists like Badflower, Grandson, and Jeris Johnson. However, if after being deprived of shows for so long, you just feel like screaming the lyrics at the top of your lungs along with vastly talented performers, then I highly recommend opening up your schedule for acts such as Fever 333, Mastodon, Ice Nine Kills, and Slipknot.

Although it might be a bit difficult to snag an RV camping spot at this point, they still have tent camping available to those who want to stay on site. If you prefer the comfort of a hotel, the area is well equipped with plenty of lodging for people planning to attend the festival. Keep in mind, amongst the continuing concern related to Covid-19, the festival issued an acknowledgement on their website as follows,

“An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. By attending Welcome To Rockville Festival, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19 and agree to waive all claims and potential claims against the City of Daytona Beach, County of Volusia, Danny Wimmer Presents, LLC and their affiliated companies relating to such risks.”

With this being said, organizers have reassured fans that if any cancellation occurs due to the pandemic, refunds or roll-overs will be issued. They’ve also stated that staff will be following CDC regulations and fans will also be asked to follow guidelines which will be posted closer to the festival date.

November can’t come soon enough for those chomping at the bit to get out and rock. Having attended festivals curated by DWP in the past, I have high hopes that Rockville will deliver an enduring experience for attendees and artists alike.
