WOLF ALICE AT BLUE BIRD THEATER IN DENVER

WOLF ALICE AT BLUE BIRD THEATER IN DENVER

Seeing Wolf Alice live - where do I even begin?

First of all, genuinely they are THE absolute coolest band on the planet, no contest. Their live shows are always incredible and I'm always left wanting a million encores. This specific show in Denver was no exception.

There's also something really special about seeing a band like Wolf Alice play in a packed club venue that is without a doubt much too small for them. They're massive rockstars (that make it look effortless) and being able to see them play in smaller venues still is such a treat.

Either way, the place felt like it was bursting at the seams the entire time in the best way. From the second the band walked on stage and began playing the first notes of "Smile", a mosh pit formed in the front of the crowd and the energy was matched on stage in an instant. Frontwoman Ellie's vocals were beautifully piercing and the new record translated effortlessly live - possibly even better live than the actual recordings. The band's set consisted of a mix of songs from their newest album Blue Weekend along with some of their older beloved tunes from previous records like "Beautifully Unconventional" and "Bros". Another thing that was honestly as cool as the band was how immersed the crowd was in the performances. At times it was almost silent during the more lowkey songs like "No Hard Feelings", but simultaneously would be a massive roar of laughter and screams during the massive climactic ending of "Giant Peach". Then we all danced and cried together during their last song "Don't Delete The Kisses".

Wolf Alice has been one of my favorite bands since the beginning and still continues to deliver some of the most interesting and beautiful music and performances out there. They've been around for several years now and have already proven how completely insanely talented they are, but also have shown that they're only just getting started. I'm anticipating that next year they'll tour the states again so I can catch a ton more shows for this album cycle. If you haven't seen this band already, you have got to make it out to one of their shows because they rule.
