10 CONCERTS TO MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND IN PARIS: FEBRUARY

10 CONCERTS TO MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND IN PARIS: FEBRUARY

For the beginning of 2020, we decided initiate a new kind of article, and to select 10 concerts for you that are interesting, exciting or just some that you cannot afford to miss around Paris. There’s almost one for each day until the end of February. Ready to party?

Tell us what you think about them and if you have others planned!

February 18th – The Strokes @ L’Olympia

If you don’t already have your tickets I, unfortunately, cannot do anything for you really. This show was announced out of the blue, as usual when dealing with The Strokes. It was also sold out in 20 minutes or so, as expected. The Strokes in Paris for a headline show did not happen for 9 long years. Everyone is already buzzing to be there.

February 21st – Liam Gallagher @ Le Zenith

Even if Oasis split in Paris -at Rock en Seine in 2009, to be precise- French people still love the two members of the English phenomenon. Liam Gallagher came back at the end of 2019 with a brand-new record, and brand-new bangers. What can you expect from a Gallagher show? A lot of rock n’ roll songs, a bit of Oasis classics, and many sing-alongs. Are you up to it?

February 22nd – Jonas Brothers @ AccorHotel Arena

The Jonas Brothers are planning a grand comeback in Europe with a huge tour crossing 15 countries. France is no exception, with a date in Paris next week. It will be an interesting show, for sure!

February 23rd – Lana del Rey @ AccorHotel Arena

The American superstar coming to Paris is a rare occurrence. It is only right that her only Parisian date has been sold out for months. Her record, Norman Fucking Rockwell!, won Best International Album at the NME Awards last week.

We know, it is impossible to be in two places at the same time. It was physically unbearable (yeah, that much) to choose between these two shows, though. We thus decided to keep the two of them in the selection.

February 24th – Sam Fender @ La Cigale

The young English songwriter and singer upgrades from venue to venue at each of his visits in Paris. 6 months after a packed La Maroquinerie, it is at a sold out La Cigale that he will play next Monday. With a continuously growing number of French fans, the show is bound to be a great and emotional one. If you like the modern rock of his first record Hypersonic Missiles, you will not be disappointed.

February 24th – Cage the Elephant @ L’Olympia

They recently received a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album of 2019 with Social Clues.  They toured through the US with Beck. They are now in Europe after a missed rendezvous last year. Their show at the iconic Parisian venue, L’Olympia, will for sure be an explosive one.

February 25th – Big Thief @ Le Cabaret Sauvage

They did warn us from the beginning - they had enough material to release two albums in less than a year. Big Thief came back quickly with another brilliant record at the end of 2019. Two Hands is a beautiful, ambivalent folk and rock record, experiencing everything from softness to pain. With the release of the record comes the traditional tour. It will make a stop in Paris this month. You don’t want to miss this.

February 27th – James Blunt @ Le Zenith

His sixth record, Once Upon A Mind, came out last October. It is simpler, more honest, and a return to his basics. James Blunt still has quite a lot of fans in France and is set to play at Le Zenith.

February 28th – Arlo Parks @ La Boule Noire

She is a young and amazing writer and poet. She is the new signature of my favorite label, Transgressive.  She released, in collaboration with Easy Life, one of the most beautiful tracks of 2019, “Sangria. Her singles simply become better and better. Just check her latest release “Eugene. I’m just so happy to get to see her in a tiny Parisian venue.

February 29th – Stormzy @ Le Trianon

A hip hop show to close this month filled with rock concerts. Stormzy headlined Glastonbury last year. Just that. His lyrics are beautiful, truthful, and sincere, and that is most important for a rapper. It does not hurt that the instrumental parts know how to catch your ears. He is also featured in one of the last tracks from Linkin Park in 2017 with Pusha T, “Good Goodbyes. Le Trianon will be blown that night for sure.
