BLACKOUT PROBLEMS AT THE 1999 IN PARIS

There are some concerts that you simply state that you will be there. You crossed the date months before it actually happening, but, the most beautiful musical discoveries happen when you do not really expect it. My close friend told me that she would be there for Blackout Problems set in Paris; that they were an exciting band that needed to be seen. She did not make it. I, however, made an encounter that will be one of the best of 2020, I am convinced.

It was around 9:00pm when the German band went up on the tiny stage of The 1999. This small concert-bar-club is a compulsory step in conquering the French (specifically the Parisian) public. The French public is said to be difficult to read, always staying very stoic and quiet. Blackout Problems demonstrated their talent to embark everyone on their party mood. They may have had a small gathering of hardcore fans from Europe present that night, but a good part of The 1999 were just curious music lovers out on a Friday night. If, at first, Mario Radetzky was a bit hesitant on how to bring energy to the small crowd, he quickly succeeded in making everyone sing and dance. Of course, it helps that he spent so much time in the public, singing with the fans, crowd surfing and climbing on the big disco ball attached to the ceiling (yes, yes!). This evening that started a little bit too much reasonable, turned out to finish in quite a bit of madness.

The band music recalls You me At Six, Royal Republic, or Giant Rooks’ style and they surely assure an equally dynamic concert. I can only advise you to listen to “Rome” or “How Should I Know” if you want to discover them. They said that they will be back in November, and I simply cannot wait!
