AUGUST BURNS RED AT SOUTHSIDE BALLROOM IN DALLAS

This tour is one of my first shows of the year and I was so stoked it would be for August Burns Red’s 20 year Anniversary tour. Considering I hadn’t seen either August Burns Red nor The Devil Wears Prada respectively since 2019/2018, could you blame for being overly excited?

I hadn’t seen or heard of Bleed From Within but they came out with headliner energy and got the crowd going from the start. From most pits, to crowd surfing and walls of death, I’m sure everyone as well me had nothing short of a blast watching their set.

The Devil Wears Prada were up next and they quickly reminded me why I love them so much, and how amazing their sound and energy is live. It’s so hard when watching them not to get distracted and mesmerized by the music. They were constantly active on stage moving, from side to side, emulating the crowd behind me. I loved every second of that set.

Finally, out came August Burns Red and not even 30 seconds into the first song came a wave of crowd surfers. It also looked like a sea of mosh pits behind me. Jake brings the crazy energy every single time I see these guys and it’s one of the things I love most about seeing them live. That and the fact that JB will never not be in his flip flops shredding on his sick Ibanez guitar. To top it off they played literally every one of my favorite songs so I don’t know how I’d top this experience. If you’re thinking about attending this tour date near you, don’t wait, just do it.
